What is the Bridge to Hollywood program and how do I apply?
Russian Film Industry only recently began to produce real quality motion pictures according to western standards such as Fedor Bondarchuk’s 9th Battalion and Timur Bekmambetov’s Night Watch. In 2002, a partnership was formed between one of the leading media production companies in Russia called Amedia and Sony Pictures International. This partnership was able to produce two very successful Russian prime-time TV shows. One of them was My Wonderful Nanny based on the widely acclaimed American show The Nanny, the other Don’t be born beautiful was based on another famous western show Ugly Betty. All of the above productions were either co-produced and/or supervised by western professionals.
Bridge to Hollywood presents the international participant with a unique opportunity to broader his or her knowledge and professionalism within Hollywood’s system of producing, directing and acting. Learn from todays successful American as well as Russian professionals, get first hand experience on a real Hollywood set, roam the Red Carpets with A-List celebrities, use the chance to get acquainted with helpful contacts and ideas, direct your own short-film and understand how the western cinematographer works. You will also get to visit all of the top film and acting schools within Los Angeles, to get a good idea of what’s out there for a possible future education that you may have in store for yourself. This program presents a unique exchange of knowledge for the international participant and helps in developing skills that are not just exclusive to the entertainment industry but are also applicable to life.
Bridge to Hollywood runs for 14 days and is designed for 10 to 15 participants. The daily program consists of two parts: academic & entertaining. The academic program includes a set of subjects offering the necessary skills for those wishing to devote themselves to the arts of theatre, film and television.

The entertaining part of the program includes two exclusive trips to exquisite Red Carpet Events, a hand-on experience on a real Hollywood production, as well as an academic VIP-tour of major film studios such as Universal Studios and Warner Bros.. The program also includes an excursive tour around famous art & cultural centers of Los Angeles such as the Getty Museum, LACMA Museum, Disneyland and others. The participant will also go through the orientation process at major film and acting universites in Los Angeles such as the American Film Institute, New York Film Academy, UCLA Film School, and Lee Strasberg Institute. There will also be master-classes with world renowned celebrities. At the end of the program, each participant gets a certificate of the completion of the Bridge to Hollywood program.
