From skids to theatre plays and some thorough studying of the Russian poems and literature, the «Junior Course» has embarked on a journey through the creative world of theatre and film. Not every Russian-American child living in America could come up to his or her parents and easily retell some of the most captivating Russian poems by world renowned Russian authors. We are certain that all of the participants who have successfully completed the «Junior Course Winter 09 - Spring 10» program have discovered their creative inner world and understood what is a real creative intellectual product! We can’t wait to see you all again for the opening of the «Junior Course Summer 2010» program in June 2010!

The Hollywood Academy of Theatre Arts & Film is now accepting applicants for the General Course program. These would be teens and adults between the ages of 16 and 30 years old (Russian and English speakers welcome).

The course doesn’t obligate that you become a Hollywood actor. The General Course program is designed to provide anyone with the practical experience necessary to get in, get out, realize and analyze if this business is right for you or not and in end regardless of the outcome, still have a unique experience.

Although we do open doors for people who are looking for real experience on set as well as agent placement, we mainly concentrate on developing the creative potential for the individual. In other words, you don’t have to love acting to come and take an acting course. If you are a lawyer, this course will benefit you just as much as a seasoned actor.

The program is taught by Elena Antone (Director of Hollywood Academy, credits include The Sopranos, Law & Order, Sex and the City, Bread & Roses) with a possible guest span style=”color: #ffffff;”>Robert Hallak from span style=”color: #ffffff;”>Lee Strasberg Institute (a protege of Lee Strasberg).

The key goals of the course are to develop the student’s creative potential, biomechanics, liberate the creative nature of the student, organize the work of sense organs in a public situation as well as to develop the student’s abilities in feeling of space and composition, psychotechniques, skills of multiplane attention, emotional memory and figurative thinking.

The first play being staged by Elena Antone is well underway. The first group excursion to a real Hollywood production is very near. Soon every student is going to experience first hand what its like to be on a Hollywood production set and feel the magic of movie making!

The classes are being held at the beautiful Art Works Theatre in West Hollywood. Paul Gregory, one of the leaders in Hollywood’s head shot and creative photography has joined our faculty at the Hollywood Academy of Theatre Arts & Film. He now heads the The Art of the Photoshoot class. As a managing partner, Paul has also opened new and very exciting possibilities for our Academy within the Red Carpet Events such as: Movie Premiers, Award Ceremonies, Closed Celebrity Parties which are now open to us and our students.
